Disabled Human Right Forum (DHRF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established by the persons with disabilities (Person with disabilities) on26th May, 2013. It was registered at the District Administration Office (DAO) Nuwakot in 2013 and is also affiliated with Social Welfare Council (SWC), NGOs federation of Nepal, NFDN and Ministry of Social Development Bagmati Province, Hetauda Nepal.
From the very beginning of its establishment, DHRF as a disabled rights organization has been working actively for the rights of Person with disabilities throughout the country. In order to fulfilling the objectives of the organization, DHRF has been coordinating and collaborating with the different stakeholders and other like-minded organizations at local, district, provincial, national and international level. These objectives intend to empower Person with disabilities for independent livelihood and uplifting their status in the society through capacity development, awareness building and policy advocacy. Policy advocacy in particular emphasizes on promoting disabled-friendly national laws and policies in line with international human rights standards and their effective implementation. DHRF believes in the comprehensive development of all kind of disabled through mobilization of existing resources and opportunities in optimum level. DHRF is committed to empower the Person with disabilities and making them capable of living the dignified and respectful life directed towards nation building through active and meaningful participation.
DHRF has been proactively working in various developmental sectors in order to protect and promote the rights Person with disabilities and for their better livelihood, inclusive education, Health & Rehabilitation, Disable inclusive development (DID). Awareness raising, leadership development, providing skill based trainings or vocational trainings, research and study to explore the disabilities issues, lobby/advocacy, networking, etc. are the key activities of DHRF.
